Malala Getting Nobel Prize |
The return of 20 years
old Nobel laureate from Pakistan, Malala of clan Yousafzai, sparks a social
media debate over her doings in the past 6 years in abroad. The youngest
Nobel laureate left Pakistan almost 6 years ago when she was fatally shot
by Taliban in the Northern Area of Pakistan for being Advocate of “Education
for Girls”.
Since she was shot in
the head to her return to her motherland she gains a prominent
spotlight all
around the globe,
she advocated for “Women rights” and “Education for Girls” all around
the world, especially in
Third world countries. She has a list of admirers which starts
from President
Obama to several world leaders including Vladimir Putin, David Cameron,
and leaders from all
around the world.
Although she has made a
mark of her agenda and character all around the globe, many from Pakistan
sought to defy her. Like any other controversy, this one also has Admirers and
one’s who Denounce her. Fortunately, by making an exception for Social Media,
the mainstream media was rather, more optimistic and waving for her return,
calling her as the “Daughter of Nation” and “Gul Makai”.
There’s a liberal wing
of people praising her for advocating young Girls’ right for Education and
showing a bright image of Pakistan and making a world a better place, and there
is rest of Pakistan who is protesting and condemning her for talking asylum in
England and continuing studies there or perhaps for winning a Nobel Prize.
There’s a group of
people who constantly compare her with martyrs of APS, and condemn the world
for taking her high up in the ranks of other achievers, for just taking a
bullet in her head. The conservatives who deny change and probably see Feminism
as a western tool to wage war among societies are the same who believe in
Illuminati and blame the Government for all of their problems.
There only concern
regarding Malala is that she got shot and didn’t die right then and there. On
the other hand, there is a liberal wing of Pakistan who believes in her and
praises her for her activities and struggles all around the world for women
rights. Malala perhaps is the only Pakistani who is recognized by the entire
world for being a beacon of hope for women. Even a high political polarized
country like united states, the hard-line Republicans from south found to
inspired by Malala and her struggle for a Role model for young girls. Malala is
found and acknowledges worldwide, the only reason why she has so much of hate
for her in Pakistan are the people who still believe in cliché that women
belong in the kitchen. And she is not the only one who has been criticized for
some reason, Pakistan’s other Nobel Laureate Dr. Abdus Salam was also met with same hatred and was forced to leave the
country based on his religious beliefs.
For the course of past 6
years, Malala founded “MALALA FUND” and has helped many poor girls
around the world, she’s received Nobel Prize, got an Honorary Degree, and got
herself into Oxford University. And most important of all these things
mentioned above, In these hard times for Pakistan, especially with the fiasco
of our foreign policy towards the western hemisphere, Malala could be the only
positive thing to come out of this hard and most maligned era of Pakistan.
She has come out as the
positive and ever-promising face of this nation at the international forum, a
nation was inflicted with the curse of terrorism, who has seen so much war, and
no progress in the past few years.
